Tuck the chat header away
- new The page people chat from can now fold its whole top area — the creator's note, the chat details, and the "save this to return later" strip — into one slim bar. Click anywhere on it to collapse, click the bar to expand, and see more of the conversation. Works on both direct and group chat links.
- improved Buttons inside the header (mute, notify me, copy link) still work without folding anything away, and dragging to select the return link no longer counts as a click.
Every chat page carried a small essay at the top: the creator's note, who you're talking to and whether they're around, a line about not needing an account, and the "save this to return later" strip with its link. Useful the first time you open a chat. After that it's furniture, and on a laptop screen it could crowd out two or three messages' worth of conversation.
Now the whole top area folds. Click anywhere on it and it collapses into one slim bar showing the essentials: who you're talking to, whether they're online, the mute and notify buttons. Click the bar and everything comes back. It starts expanded on every visit, so first-timers still get the full introduction, and it works the same on group chat links (the slim bar keeps the people-count button there).
Two things were deliberately kept working: the buttons inside the header do their own jobs without folding anything away, and dragging to select the return link's text is treated as a selection, not a click, so copying the link by hand never collapses the header out from under you.
